Jeffery entered the world on August 28, 1954 in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Herbert C. Jackson, Sr. and Dorothy L. Bynum Jackson. He was the middle child of five children born to their union.
Jeffery joined the Ludden Chapel Baptist Church at a young age. He loved attending Sunday School, BTU, Church Services, as well as Youth Choir all through his childhood. He also found time to sneak out of the service when he could. Upon graduating from Wossman High School he married and moved to Detroit, Michigan. His work career was at Chrysler Motors where he worked as an auto maker and completed many certifications.
There was nothing he didn’t know about cars. Upon retirement he moved back to Monroe, LA where he assisted in the care of our mother. During that time period he also worked closely with his sister (Connie) in the everyday operations of the family dry cleaning business (Faith Cleaners).
He faithfully attended church and could be found at the back of the church making sure the members felt safe during church service. He loved to read and work crossword puzzles. Mother ‘s nickname for him was “Buster”. He could cut up and keep you laughing. Jeff loved to cook but most of all he loved to fish. This was his passion for relaxation.Jeff’s love for his sons and grandchildren were immeasurable. He was there for whatever they needed. He pushed the same ethics that our parents did with us and that was “Education and faith in God are the keys to your future and a better life.”
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Travis Jackson and Jeffery N. Jackson, Jr. both of Detroit, MI; three grandchildren: Julia Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson, and Alexa Skora; and siblings: Herbert C. Jackson, Jr.; Ledwenia Coulberson (Elmore); Connie Staten (David); Dorothy A. Page; and a host of nieces and nephews as well as long time friends.
