Jerry Huffman, aged 65, returned home to his Lord and Savior on January 16, 2024, at Heritage Healthcare Nursing Home Facility in Hammond, Louisiana. He was born on May 2, 1958, in Port Arthur, TX.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Huffman Erfurt; son-in-law, Bryan Erfurt; and twin grandchildren, Aubreigh and Hunter Erfurt, who were the light of his life. His brothers, Bobby Huard, Tommy Huard, David Huffman, and sister, Nola Merren, and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins. We will hold dear his memory, and cherish the time and laughter spent with him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Saucier; father, Robert Huffman; sister, Gay Fontenot; and brothers, Donald and John Huffman. They have welcomed him into eternal rest.
During the mid 1970’s, Jerry proudly served his country as a Ranger in the United States Army.
Jerry's life was one of simple pleasures: he found joy in sports, spending time with his family, and enjoying a good bowl of gumbo. He was a fan of basketball, baseball, and football. He loved rooting for the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers, especially in the company of his Texan brothers. He also cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
The family invites those who knew and loved Jerry to join them in a service of remembrance at Magnolia Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27, at 1pm. It will be a time to honor a life well-lived and to give thanks for the memories shared.
In Jerry Huffman's memory, let us reflect on a life that was a testament to the values of love, family, and service. May he rest in peace.
