Joan Carole Nolan Graham

February 17, 1938 — November 21, 2024

Joan was born on February 17, 1938 in Algiers, Louisiana and went to live in the presence of her Lord on November 21, 2024. She was a faithful member of Carpenters Chapel Church in Prairieville, Louisiana where she was a member of the church choir with a beautiful and powerful soprano voice and served on many church committees. She was very proud of her service as a census bureau supervisor for the 1980 census and as a past president of The Fellowship Center in Gonzales, but was always happiest in her role as a wife and mother. She was a very active person throughout her life. She was an accomplished bowler, loved shrimping, crabbing and fishing, traveling, crossword puzzles and playing board games. Her all time favorite pastime was lunching with her many friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lynwood Earl Graham, her son William Nolan Graham, a stillborn son, parents Edward Gresper Nolan Jr. and Lena Boudreaux Nolan, brother Edward Gresper Nolan III and wife Beverly, and son-in-law Leonard Tregre. She is survived by her children, Donna Graham Tanner and husband John, Gwen Graham Tregre, and Stephen Wade Graham and Trudie. Her 7 grandchildren, Megan Tanner Burgett and husband Perry, Ashley Bourque Painter and husband Shawn, Courtney Tanner Babin and husband Thor, Rachel Tanner McDowell and husband Chris, Hope Bourque Braud and husband Dustin, Alyson Blair Tanner, and Abbie Jade Graham. 16 great-grandchildren, John “Jack” Burgett, Paige Burgett, William Burgett, Ryder Babin, Reese Babin, Lola Fourroux, Lena Fourroux, Bowen McDowell, Macklyn McDowell, Brooklyn Painter, Clayton Painter, Avery Braud, Evan Braud, Kellen Jackson, Eden Jackson, and Seren Mott. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many great friends. Our mom was well loved and cherished by many and she will be greatly missed. Services will be Tuesday, November 26th at Fellowship Church in Prairieville. Visitation will be from 9-11, with services at 11:00. There will be a private family burial following the service and an informal gathering at her home for those who would like to spend time together and reminisce.
