Joan M. Schiro
Joan M. Schiro, a native of Chicago, IL., spent the majority of her life raising her family in Independence, LA. She was a resident of Gramercy, Louisiana for the past 16 years and passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 86. She was a caregiver and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette Schiro Faucheux(Mike), and loving grandchildren, Michael Faucheux(Lauren), Landon Faucheux, and Daphne Trichell as well as four great grandchildren, Anthony, Matthew, Karen (“Lexi-K”), and Kaylee. She is survived by brothers, Roger Willmore and Glen Willmore as well as brother in law, Joseph Schiro, sister in law, Diane Schiro Brayman, and numerous nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper “Jack” Schiro, her son, Nicholas Schiro, and her daughter, Karen Schiro.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina, Louisiana.
The family would like to thank her numerous caregivers, Chateau St. James Retirement & Rehabilitation, COMPASSUS Hospice, and the staff of Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner.
