Joann Basile

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of JoAnn Basile will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Whitehall; wake begins at 10:30 am (masks required). Interment at Whitehall Community Cemetery.

JoAnn was born on January 5, 1948 and departed from this life on Sunday October 18, 2020 at Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond at the age of 72 years. She was a homemaker and an entrepreneur of several adventures; she enjoyed sewing and building or repairing things.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jessica Watts; great grandson, Dax Franklin; her grandparents, Ramie and Georgiana Fontenot and Santo and Meanie Basile, and her parents, Anthony “Tony” and Evelyn Basile.

Survivors include her children, Jeorgi (Chad) Bergeron and Celestain (Tracy) Vicknair, III; companion,  Sam Frederick; grandchildren, Whitney Guillory, Casey Zalson, Sarah Aragon, Celestain Vicknair, IV, Samantha Watts, Victoria Franklin, and Trisha Prosperie; she is also  survived by a host of great grandchildren.
