John B. “Red” Nichols passed away on October 21, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born on August 7, 1932 in Duplessis, Louisiana. He was a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, residing in Dutchtown. He was a self-employed carpenter for over 50 years. John served 4 years in the Air Force
with an Honorable Discharge. He was an avid LSU fan all of his life and loved to fish and hunt every chance he had. He is survived by his daughters Anita Perault and Vickie Perault (Morris); sister Thelma Nichols Babin. He had 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents John Henry and Ida Woodcock Nichols, wife Victoria LeBlanc Nichols, children John Barry Nichols and Rhonda Nichols Arceneaux, grandchildren Blake and Brittany Perault.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
