John "Wayne" Sheets

John ‘Wayne’ Sheets was born in St. Amant, Louisiana on September 17, 1946 and passed away of Alzheimer’s on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the age of 77 at the Francois Bend Senior Living facility in Gonzales, Louisiana. Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a graduate of St. Amant High School and attended Southeastern University where he earned a degree in Accounting. He became a CPA shortly after graduation and had a successful practice in Gonzales for forty years. Wayne was very generous, had a great sense of humor, was quick-witted, was an avid golfer and loved talking about his grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 20 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. The burial service will be held in the church cemetery. Wayne was preceded in death by his first wife, Lura Boudreaux Sheets and is survived by their children and spouses: Rae Belleu (Bill), Rani Coleman (Flint), Andy Sheets (Christy), Fran DuBois (Toby) and his grandchildren: Trey Belleu (Michelle), Sophia B. Hilbun (Landon), Audrey Belleu, Maddie C. Williams (Jacob), Eli Coleman (Julie), Ella Sheets, Grace Sheets, Lilly Sheets, Josie DuBois, Demi DuBois and Sam DuBois. He is also survived by his wife, Sue Babin Sheets and her children: Paula Roussel Crowe (Glenn) and Ryan Roussel (Laura), his brother Harold Sheets, sister Karen Lambert (Ronnie), sister-in-law Gail Sheets, 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and Gervis Sheets, brother Ken Sheets, sister Linda Sheets and sister-in-law, June Sheets. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers during this difficult time. A special thanks to the Staff of Cardinal Hospice, especially Nurse Callie Templet and the staff at Francois Bend.
