Joseph Donald Robert Hankins passed away on December 25, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on December 17, 1942, in Winnipeg, Canada, He led a life marked by dedication, loyalty, and a zest for adventure.

 A proud veteran, Joseph served as a drill sergeant in the United States Airforce for eight years, attaining the rank of master sergeant. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty and discipline that permeated all aspects of his life. Following his time in the service, he received a pilot's license and later retired after many years of service at Placid Refinery.

Joseph was not just defined by his career; he was a man of faith and community involvement. He was affiliated with the Rock Church and World Ministries, where he actively contributed to various causes, faithfully supporting The Wounded Warrior Project, John Hagee Ministries, Rock Ministries, and Crystal Lyon Ministries.

 He had an adventurous spirit that extended beyond his professional life. Joseph loved flying and cherished moments spent with family, especially while waterskiing or enjoying regular beach getaways. He was particularly enthusiastic about attending barrel racing events with his daughter Dawn and took great pleasure in traveling across the country in his fifth wheel. Each summer, he looked forward to reuniting with his high school classmates.

 Joseph is survived by his children: Rodney Hankins, Robin Hankins Groeneveld, Lisa Hankins McAllister, Dawn Hankins, and Daren Hankins, his grandchildren, Dustin Hawkins, Crystal Harbert, Kendra Hawkins, Cory Hankins, John Paul Manasseh and Emery McAllister. Also survived by his siblings, Betty Hankins Thomas, Barbara Hankins Purdie, Faye Hankins and Lani Hankins and 18 great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clell Hankins and Frances Elizabeth Agopowitzc Hankins, as well as his grandson, Michael Hankins, niece, Miranda Thomas and nephew, Cory Thomas.
