Joseph Marcus Wampler Junior of Scurry, Texas passed away February 6, 2025 at 57 years of age in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Joseph, who also went by “Joey” and “Marcus”, was born October 23, 1967 to Joseph Marcus Wampler Senior and Hilda Irene Bushey Wampler in Kaufman County, Texas.
He grew up in Scurry, Texas and carried with him a fondness for the bumpy, country roads and his family that he spent most of his younger years with, Danny Ray Wampler and Callie Noble Wampler. Though he grew up in Texas, he viewed himself as a traveler and walked a colorful path, finding many places to call home throughout his life. He spent his last years nestled into Spanish Town of Baton Rouge trying to brighten the lives of those around him. He always had time to help anyone out, no matter if you just needed someone to talk to or a hand with a project.
He loved to devote his time to his own engineering and art projects, always coming up with new inventions, ideas and eccentric projects. He was an electric character with a free spirit, leaving behind a trail of wonderful, colorful, and well-engineered creations.
Joseph is survived by his children, Rachael Wampler and Christopher Wampler; and three sisters and two brothers, Abigail Wampler, Adam Christopher, Melissa Clinton, Rhonda White and Charles Wampler.
He is deeply missed by his family, his community, and his close friends, Jennifer Gallager and James Mabus III.
