Julius Paul “Ponkie” Guedry

Julius Paul “Ponkie” Guedry age 82, a resident of Sorrento, Louisiana, passed away on April 17, 2022. He was born in St. Amant, LA. He was an Army veteran and a self-employed contractor. Julius worked with the Ascension Parish School Board until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Julius is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lassere Guedry; son, Jody Guedry; daughter, Michele (John) Anderson; grandsons, Kade (Katie) Johnson and Chaffy Landry Jr.; granddaughter, Lacie Anderson; great grandchildren, Pemon, Kel, Rhett, and Jayden, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Zuline Guedry Sr.; sons, Jeffrey Guedry and Chaffy Landry Sr.; grandson, Brayden Johnson; siblings, Margaret Melancon,Velma Laurent, and Joe Guedry Jr. ;. The family would like to thank Pinnacle Home Health for their care in Julius’ physical therapy. They would also like to say a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice especially to his nurses Melissa, Jamie, Bernice, and Franla for taking such good care of him. Visitation will take place at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 beginning at 9 am until a memorial mass to celebrate his life begining at 11 am.
