Karen Marie Summers

Karen Marie Summers, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2023.  She was born June 8, 1965 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She held a degree in Medical Technology and was in pharmaceutical sales for many years.  She loved the beach and travelling.  She was 58 years old when she went to be with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her children; Keesha Ockmand (Aaron) and Justin Martin, and siblings; Sharron Waguespack (Ray), Donnie Summers (Connie), Jackie Summers (Michael), Ricky Summers (Terri), Susan Demouy (Michael), Ken Summers (Sheela) and Scott Summers (Cindy).  In addition, she leaves behind three grandchildren; Dylan Torres, Chase Torres, and Logan Ockmand, and a great-grandson; Luke Torres, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  She is preceded in death by her parents; Laurence and Winona Summers, her grandparents; Amilcar and Lucy Frederick and Jabus and Alma Summers. A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Greenwell Springs, LA., followed by mass at 1:30.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.  “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, & I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28
