Kathleen Blank Core, 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 and is now in heaven with her Heavenly Father. Born in Madisonville to Charles Louis Blank, Sr. and Ruth Morgan Blank on January 7, 1945. She always strived to display the Fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) in her daily life. Quite frequently, you could find her sitting on her front porch enjoying God’s beautiful creation, working her crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, or visiting with family and friends. During the trials and tribulations of life, she was a true “steel magnolia”-always sweet and gentle but strong and steady when she needed to be.
Survived by four children and thirteen grandchildren-Tab and Jennifer Core-Hannah (Yvan), Gabrielle, Caroline and Ella; John and Melissa (Core) Lee-Forrest, Rachel, and Hunter; Chuck and Kristen Core-Madeline and Charlie; and Chris and Julie (Core) Vasterling-Ben, Luke, Kathleen and Grace. Also survived by her dear brother, Charles Louis Blank. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Tom Core, and her parents. She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed.
We thank the team at Amedisys hospice, especially Nikki, Tricia, David, and Tabitha, for providing our mom with wonderful care and guidance as she left this place to rest eternally with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Per her wishes, a private family ceremony to celebrate her life will take place at a later date. Arrangements with Church Funeral Services, St. Amant 225-644-9683
