Kenneth “Apple” Abadie, 76, of Prairieville passed away at home on September 13, 2024. Apple lived a life filled with love, compassion, and deep devotion to those he cherished. Apple was married to his beloved wife, Charlie Sue McAlum, for 25 years. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and love.

Apple is survived by his wife, Charlie Sue McAlum and their faithful furry companion Lucy; two sons, Kenneth (Kenny) Abadie, Jr and wife Tanya and Rene Abadie and wife Trisha, and three daughters, Kellie Babineaux and her husband Brian, Suzanne McAlum and Dee Dee Landry and her partner Roy; his grandchildren Cody and Caitlin Abadie, Lauryn and Whitney Breaux and Kameron Abadie; Brittany and Ben Babineaux, Jessica Ricci, and Christian and Colin Landry; his great grandchildren Madison Ricci, Chloe and August Abadie and Elysabeth and Noah Breaux; Apple is also survived by his family, RoseAnn Abadie Mire, Clothilde Abadie, Gerard Hymel, Judith Abadie Kliebert, Vicki Abadie Schexnayder, sister-in-law Pam Arceneaux Abadie, Nancy Abadie and Clinton Benoit, Jeanne Abadie and Anthony Clemente and Antoinette Abadie

Apple was a man of deep faith with a passion for creating beautiful wood creations for those he loved, building model airplanes, and more recently spending hours on complex jigsaw puzzles and cooking. Apple loved his country and was a veteran of the Navy who served in Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ozane Abadie, Sr. and Rose Gravois Abadie of Vacherie. Also, by his sister Marguerite Abadie and Dudley Labat, sister Madeline Abadie and Norman Lassere, brother-in-law Richard Mire, brother Harold and Lois Roussel Abadie, brother-in-law Huey Kliebert, brother-in-law Robert Schexnayder, Sr., brother Theodore Abadie, Sr., brother Ozane Abadie, Jr., brother Nolan and Brenda Garrison Abadie, mother-in-law Nell Gartman, brother-in-law Calvin “Buck” Gartman, sister-in-law Betty Morgan and grandson Matthew Babineaux.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie on Saturday, September 28 from 9:00 am until the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am.
