Kim Kevin Maranto, native of Baton Rouge and resident of Gonzales, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the age of 63. Kim was an avid hot rod enthusiast, who gave his life to the sport of drag racing. He served as track announcer for State Capitol Raceway, No Problem Raceway, as well as NHRA for many years. He also made a career out of outside sales for the automotive industry. He had a love for playing music, cooking, attending car shows, and talking all over the country on his CB Radio.
Kim is survived by his children, Chase Maranto and girlfriend, Devon Babin, Brittany Guitreau and husband, Josh Guitreau, Omid Sehat and wife, Rachel; 5 grandchildren; brothers, John Maranto and wife, Debbie and Lee Maranto; former spouse, Terri Ryland; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, AJ and Peggy Maranto and sister, Marlene Scanlon.
A memorial to celebrate Kim’s life will be announced at a later date.
