Laurie Thomassie Thornton

Laurie Thomassie Thornton, a beloved and humble soul, passed away on October 29, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on December 30, 1960, Laurie was known for her generous spirit and unwavering kindness. She touched the lives of many with her giving nature and selfless acts of kindness.

Laurie is survived by her adoring father, Milton Thomassie; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Dean Womack, and Leah and Dray Rickets; her granddaughter, Magdalynn; her sister-in-law, Stephanie Marrero Thomassie; her niece, Michelle Thomassie, and nephews, Jeremy and Shawn Thomassie and Brian Huguet Jr.; and her many cousins. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Jason Thomassie and Adam Wade Thornton; her husband, Wade Thornton; her mother, Zola Scott Thomassie; her brother and sister, Johnny and Nikki Thomassie; her cousin, Brian Huguet Sr.; and her grandbabies, Guinevere Sophia and Allora Dannon Womack.

Laurie had a passion for plants, finding joy in nurturing and caring for them. She also had a deep passion for helping others, always ready to lend a hand to others in need.

Her legacy of compassion and humility will continue to inspire those who knew her.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Laurie’s life. Details will be shared with family and friends.
