Lawrence Edward Powers

Lawrence Edward Powers, age 80, a residence of St. Amant, LA. passed away on July 9, 2024. He was a graduate of Gonzales High School and served in the Army National Guard. Lawrence was a proud retiree of Ascension Parish School Board. He loved his work family and was considered “Uncle Lawrence” by many. 

Lawrence is survived by his children, Glen and Mona Powers, Ralph and Stephanie Powers; grandchildren, Blake and Hayley Powers, Bryce and Renee Powers, Torey and Jami Powers, Kaitlyn Powers; great grandchild, Westyn Achord; sister-in-law Edith Powers; brothers, Lloyd, Donald, David and wife Sherlyn (Shortie) Powers.

 He is preceded in death by his parents Charles E. Powers, Sr. and Margaret L. Landry Powers, brothers, Charles E. Powers, Jr. and George Powers.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 9:00AM to 11:00 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA-429, St. Amant, LA 70774. Following the visitation will be a Mass of Christian Burial. 

Pallbearers will be grandsons Blake, Bryce and Torey Powers; nephews Scott, Tim and Jason Powers. The honorary pallbearer will be Gerald Moore. 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Lawrence to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Church Funeral Services of St. Amant is in charge of arrangements.
