Len Romain Matherne, Jr.

Len Romain Matherne, Jr., native of New Orleans and resident of Gonzales, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the age of 77.  Len was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church of Sorrento.  He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, going to the casino and had a passion for cars.  Len was the proud owner of Matherne’s Trucking Company LLC.   He is survived by his loving wife, Doris D Matherne; daughter, Dawn M Erdal; son, Lenny Matherne; sisters, Nedra Cain and Elaine Nicole (Wayne); grandchildren, Justin Erdal and Catherine Matherne; step children, Carol Moore (Perry), Terral Rushing (Andy), Emma LeBourgeois (Darren), Mary Grahm(Darren “Dut” Nickens), Louis F Lee, Jr. (Elizabeth), Charles J. Lee (Deanna); sister-in-law, Pat Matherne; 12 step grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family members.  Len is preceded in death by his parents, Len, Sr. and Leona Babin Matherne; first wife, Catherine C.
