Leonard Wilby Brooks, III

Leonard Wilby Brooks III, also known as "Butch", a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and a life long resident of Colyell, Louisiana, passed away September 20th, 2024 at the age of 66. Butch is survived by his brother Gary Brooks(Susan), and sisters Penny Forester(Hank) and Shirley Warren. Butch was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his father Adolphus Warren and mother Sonja Oliver Warren. Butch attended French Settlement High School and graduated from a mechanic trade school. He dedicated his life to being an exceptional mechanic, using his skills to invent parts and improve stock cars. His love for repairing vehicles and racing cars was undeniable. Butch was well known for being a hot commodity on race day. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Graveside services will be held Saturday October 12th at 4pm at Colyell Community Cemetery.
