A resident of Baton Rouge, Linda Anderson Ydarraga Green, died at home surrounded by her family on July 7, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born on August 30, 1940 in McComb, Mississippi. She graduated from Istrouma High School in 1958, completed her BA in Education at Northwestern State College and Masters degree at Southeastern Louisiana University.
She was beautiful, artistic, brilliant, and fun. She loved spending time with her children, sister, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church members, and cherished friends. Linda enjoyed traveling, crafting, painting, teaching Sunday school, volunteering in the community, and watching a variety of sports.
She was a founding member of the Rambling Readers Book Club, taking many adventures inspired by the books they read. She was a proud member of the Audubon Chapter of the DAR. Linda always said she was called to be a teacher. She began her career teaching kindergarten and first grade before becoming an elementary school principal who was well-respected by her teachers and school board members. She was innovative in her teaching methods and mentored countless educators throughout her lifetime. She was personable, with a good sense of humor, and took a personal interest in the lives of everyone around her.

If you would like to wear or accessorize with red, Linda's life was lived loudly, and she wanted to be celebrated in the same way.
While we grieve her absence here on earth, be comforted by the assurance that Linda is resting peacefully in the arms of her risen Savior. In the words of 2 Corinthians 4: 17-18, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
