Linda Lucille Kearney, 69, of Denham Springs, passed away on April 30th, 2023, after a valiant battle with non-alcoholic cirrhosis.
Linda was born on March 2nd, 1954, the fifth of seven children, to Charles and Charlene Bryant in Salem, Indiana. As a child she gave Christ Lordship over her life. After graduating from Chrisney High School in 1971, she went on to study at Indiana University Southeast. In 1971, she met Charles (Pat) Patrick Kearney, and they wed in 1973, going on to have three children: Charles (Charlie) Patrick Kearney II, Joseph Walter Kearney, and Miranda Michelle Kearney.
When Linda had Charlie, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and devoted mother. Linda was the quintessential Mom and wife. Not only did she make certain that her children were loved, cared for, and given every opportunity to succeed, she extended that love outward to any who needed it, taking every chance she had to help her siblings, nieces and nephews, or anyone else who needed it. She cared for, fed, housed, and loved her sons’ friends: Russell Hazlett, Tony Lemon, Matt Jordan, Hank Farris, Wade Kerr, and Archie Burks. She loved it when they called her “Mom.” She excelled at being a loving space for those who wanted to be loved. She spent countless hours talking to Lynnette, Chuck, Donna, Naomi, and many others, supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She loved Jesus and family above all. Nothing made her happier than adding two daughters and eight grandchildren to her family. Whether she was Linda, Aunt Linda, Mom, or Grandma to a person, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.
Linda was a passionate DIY crafter and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her craft room making some new beautiful bauble. The only thing she enjoyed more than crafting was crafting with her grandbabies: Patrick, Michaela, Liam, Kaleb, Lukas, Kait, Ashlin, and Ian.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Charles and Charlene, her sisters Carolyn and Juanita, her brother Cisco, and one of her “boys” Russell. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life Pat; her sisters: Donna, Corina, and Naomi; her children: Charlie, Toni, J.W., Tracy, and Miranda; and her grandchildren: Patrick, Michaela, Liam, Kaleb, Lukas, Kait, Ashlin, and Ian.
There will be a remembrance of life celebration for Linda held in Louisiana at 5 p.m. July 9th at her home, and one in Indiana at 5 p.m. July 13th at Borden Museum/Tavern.
