Linda Mathis Wintz, age 61, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the St. Joseph Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. The daughter of the late Lloyd and the late Joyce Mathis, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Linda worked at The Bayou Bar of Gonzales for over 12 years, she enjoyed camping, trips to the mountains, shopping, taking care of her yard and garden. One of her favorite times other than with the family was the moments she had with her four-legged friends, Maggie and the late Missy. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Randy Wintz; stepdaughter, Lindsey LeBlanc; stepson, Brad Wintz; brothers, Danny and Frank; three step-grandchildren and a very close friend of 37 years, Arlene Cooper and husband Mike Mire. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lorraine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her honor be made to endeavor the work for the local animal shelter. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family and friends of Linda Mathis Wintz who prefer to provide a memorial contribution may do so. The family will use these to honor Linda Mathis Wintz’s life and memory by sending any donations received to Cara’s House, Ascension Parish Animal Shelter.
