A carpenter and life-long resident of Sorrento, Lionel J. Melancon Sr, died at 4:05 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his son’s residence in Sorrento, following a short illness at the age of 91.Visitation will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church of Sorrento, on Monday, November 19th from 9:00 a.m. until religious service begins at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Lee. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Mausoleum; with Military Honors.Lionel is survived by his brother in law and sister in law Julius and Mary Guedry; two daughters, Nancy (Gilbert) Norton and Gail (Launey) Brignac; four sons, Randy (Rosalyn) Melancon, Lionel Jr. (Candace) Melancon, Eric (Bridget) Melancon, and Brian (Stacie) Melancon; his grandchildren Jason Norton, Wendy and Scott Carter, Devon and Trent Naquin, Heather and Austin Guitreau, Blain and Amanda Melancon, Addie Melancon, Brad Amond, Camille Melancon, Ashley Everett, Eric Jr. and Jessica Melancon, Brock Radovich, Nicholas Radovich, Raelyn Perck, Wyatt Spillman, Brianna and Cade Leteff, Trevon Hall, and Terry Davis.
