Madeline Rose Blackmon

Madeline Rose Blackmon, born on July 23, 1943, departed this world peacefully on January 9, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Gonzales, Louisiana. At the age of 81, she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew her.

Madeline’s life was a testament to abundant strength and enduring grace. Her presence illuminated the lives of many, and her outgoing spirit brought warmth and solace to all who crossed her path. To those who loved her, she was a source of unwavering support and love—a beacon of light in times both joyful and challenging.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas J. Blackmon; her children, Debra L. Bordelon and Allan K. Westerman; her grandchildren, Amber J. Westerman, Kaiden A. Westerman, Kolbie R. Westerman, and Karma L. Ford, great-granddaughter Nevaeh M. Ford and her beloved sister Judy Holdsworth. Madeline now joins many dear ones who preceded her in death: her daughter-in-law Josephine M. Westerman; grandchild, Heather A. Westerman, her brother-in-law Charles Holdsworth; her parents Frances & Fred Laugginger, and siblings Freddie Laugginger and Doris Davis. Though their absence has long been felt, there is comfort in knowing they are reunited once more.

Her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched so deeply.
