Marie Silvio Maranto

Marie Silvio Maranto, age 87, passed away on October 29, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. The joys of her life were her three daughters, sons-in-law, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and loved family gatherings. Marie was a parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society, and a community adorer of the Adoration Chapel.

Marie is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Bobby DeArmond, Rose and Ricky Marshall, Anita and Robbie Godwin; seven grandchildren, Jason Marshall, Kasey Gallo and husband Anthony, Jeremy Marshall and wife Brooke, Nilean Godwin, Darren Legier, Jessica Wooten and husband Zack, Taylor Legier and wife Courtney; eight great-grandchildren, Madison Dupuis, Jaise Marshall, Charlotte Banta, Blaine Marshall, Zoey Gallo, Beau Marshall, Caroline Marshall, and Emily Legier; sister, Theresa Campagna and husband Byron; brother, Joe Silvio and wife Connie. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, R.B. Maranto; parents, John Silvio, Sr. and Rosie Ciacio Silvio; brothers, Victor Silvio, Jerome V. Silvio, Lucas Silvio, and John Silvio, Jr.; sister, Katherine Gravatt; brother-in-law, Marshall Gravatt; sisters-in- law, Anna Marie Silvio, Jeanette Silvio, and Faye Silvio.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Gibbs, Carlin Silvio, Paul Bordelon, Phillip House, David Silvio, Hayden DeBate and honorary pallbearer: Jeremy Ferachi.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Greenwell Springs, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 11AM until NOON. A Mass of Christian burial at NOON. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
