Martha Lane Killingsworth

Martha Lane Killingsworth went to be with her heavenly father on November 17, 2024. She was born on December 11, 1928, in Franklinton, LA. She was the events coordinator at the Belmont Hotel and Great Hall in Baton Rouge, LA for over 30 years. She loved traveling, dancing, gardening, shopping, cooking for and spending time with her family and her fur baby Sweetie Pie, and all things chocolate. She was preceded in death by husband, Earl Killingsworth; parents, Houston and May Crain; brother, Donald Crain; sisters, Katherine Chisolm and Francis McVea; son, John H. Houghton, Jr.; stepson, Stephen Killingsworth; and step granddaughter, Lauren Dill. She is survived by her 3 sons, Charles Houghton (Adrianne), Jerry Houghton (Rae Dell), and Donald Houghton; stepdaughter, Peggy Dill (Larry); 8 step grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and her fur baby Sweetie Pie. The family wishes to thank the staff at Ascension Oaks Nursing Home. Special thanks to Marie Wilson, caregiver extraordinaire, for her loving care, laughter, fun, road trips, and morning coffees you gave to Martha. Family and friends are invited to attend services at Little Prairie Baptist Church, 40497 LA-42, Prairieville, LA 70769, on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12 pm until service starting at 2 pm. Private Burial will be at a later date.
