Mary Louise "Nookie, Knock Knock” Babin, 81, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in Springfield, Louisiana, at 3:43 p.m., after a long battle with liver cancer. She was born on October 15, 1943, in Livonia, Louisiana.
Mary graduated from Istrouma High School and later earned her certification as a nursing assistant from Spencer College. She dedicated over 18 years to Berteau's Pharmacy before transitioning to a career in home health care. Returning to school later in life to become a certified nursing assistant, she provided compassionate care to her patients until retirement. She found joy in life's simple pleasures- engaging conversations with loved ones, Hallmark and Lifetime movies, and the warmth of a home tiled with laughter. Known for giving everyone she met a special nickname, Mary brought humor and affection into the lives of those around her. Mary loved her music; Zydeco was her favorite.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lewis (Toy) Gremillion Jr. and his wife Margaret, Lori DeLaune and her husband Aaron, and Scott Denoux; stepchildren, Marcie Boudreaux and Josh Babin; grandchildren, Jeremy Gremillion, Jacob DeLaune, Skylar Baldridge, Jillian Blake, Jacques Denoux, and Ava Denoux; and great-granddaughters, Amelia and Caroline Baldridge. Mary is also remembered by her brother, John Anderson and his wife Michelle; sisters-in-law, Linda Anderson and Tammy Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Babin; parents, John and Mable Anderson; brothers, Floyd Anderson and Oneal Anderson; sisters, Mary Holton and Cynthia White; and six half-siblings.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at St. John Catholic Church, 15208 LA 73 Prairieville, Louisiana, from 9:00 am until funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Serenity Oaks Cemetery with a reception at St. John Catholic Church Hall.
Pallbearers will be Chad Anderson, Chris Anderson, Casey Anderson, Brendan Anderson, Jacob DeLaune, Jacques Denoux, Darrell Rouyea, and Dale Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be John Anderson, Pemon Anderson, and Lee Loupe.
May her memory bring peace to those who knew her.
