Mary Susanna Gentrey

Mary Susanna West Gentrey, 84, of French Settlement, Louisiana, met her Savior on October 10, 2023, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

Sue is survived by her husband of 63 years, John O. Gentrey; 3 daughters, Rhonda Everett (George Everett Jr), Pamela Mercante (Raymond Mercante) and Tracy LeBeau (James Lebeau); 8 grandchildren, Cindy Hack (Donny), John McClendon (Sara), Samantha Cambre (Luke), Ashley Overmier (Ben), Jennifer Mercante, Rebecca Mercante, Aaron LeBeau (Christina) and Holly LeBeau; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Beulah West, her two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held in her honor at River of Life Worship Center in Port Vincent, Louisiana on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10am, followed by burial services at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa, Louisiana at 1pm. Pallbearers are grandsons; John McClendon and Aaron LeBeau and great grandsons; Trey Holland, Trevor Hack, Kade Hack and Brayden Hack.

Sue was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered as being a lover of shoes, purses, jackets, jewelry and pretty things. A lover of good food, chip chocolate cookies, "hamboogers", Guatemala (guacamole), the Saints, weddings, babies, soap operas, sunflowers and riding in her convertible with the top down. Most importantly, she was a lover of holidays, traditions, family and Jesus.
