Mary Lee Carney

Mary Carney departed life peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2018 at her home in Zachary, LA. She was 83. She was born April 12, 1935 to Wallace and Mary (Sanchez) Rivett at home on Bryon Street in Baton Rouge, the 12th of 13 children to grow to become adults. She married husbands Charles Favaron (1951) and Bowman Carney (1973). She is survived by children Deonne (Jimmy) Herring of Baker, Kerry (Bill) Favaron of Prairieville, Brian Favaron of Zachary, and Blaine (Becky) Favaron of Zachary, grandchildren Chris Herring, Angela (Jamie Nunez) Herring, Amber (Eric) Paulk, Miranda (Adam) Fourrier, Ali (RJ) Richard, Cody (Amanda) Davis and Madison Blaine Favaron, and great grandchildren Dayton Nunez, Cody Herring, Hannah Paulk, Addelyn Paulk, Emily Richard and Aiden Fourrier, and soon to be joined by Dawson Richard and McKenzi Fourrier. Also surviving are Mary’s siblings Wallace, Geraldine Williams, Shirley Ballard and Lela Hebert. Preceding Mary, besides her parents and husbands are siblings Lloyd, Lois Davide, Evelyn Escew, Earline Landry Cummings, Gerald, JC, and Carlton. Mary had over 80 nieces and nephews, too numerous to name here but she would greet everyone of them with a smile and “Hey Honey”, as a good Southern Aunt should. Mary was known for her generous nature, always willing to give of herself. There simply isn’t a person her family meets that doesn’t have a funny (wild or crazy) story to tell of her. She passed through life never shrinking, making her presence known: protective, proud and loving. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no visitation or services. Her family is certain that she would thank her caregivers, Blaine and Becky for being true to their word, staying by her day and night, making it possible for her to live her final days the way she wanted, without strangers and in the comfort of her home and bed.
