On January 7, 2024, Mary Ellen Motichek left this world at the age of 68. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Ellen was born to the late Lawrence and Bertha (Meaux) Andrus on July 19, 1955, in Marrero, Louisiana.
Ellen was a courageous woman who never found a task she could not conquer. She was an amazing cook and baker. She was also an avid golfer, loved playing piano, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting, and she also loved to sing. Her craft level was very skillful, and she took pride in everything she did in her life. She was able to travel around the world with her husband, Thomas while they lived in Saudi Arabia working for Saudi Aramco Oil Company.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Motichek; her children, Patrick Thibodeaux (Peggy) and Rose Thibodeaux Hale(Jim); stepchildren, Tina Motichek Werline (Roy), Thomas Motichek (DeAnn), and Tammy Motichek Perkins; her grandchildren, Sara Thibodeaux, Rolla Werline, Sonia Werline Harris, Eric Werline, Lance Werline, Garrett Motichek, Adelia Motichek, Colby Braud, Keegan Perkins, and Madeline Perkins; and her siblings, Glen Andrus (Ruby), John Gary Andrus, Katie Roy (Jeff). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Beatrice Andrus; her grandchildren, Dakota Motichek, and Wyatt Braud.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 25, 2024, at the Church International, 13423 Highway 431, St. Amant, LA. Visitation will be from 9 am until 11 am, Services starting at 11 AM.
