Matthew S. Palmer ,61, stepped into the presence of Glory on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Gonzales.A devoted father, grandfather, business owner, resident of Gonzales and native of Baton Rouge. He graduated from Broadmoor High School.Survived by his daughter, Kristin Marie Palmer; sons Johnny Burton and wife, Jessica, and Devin Burton and wife, Kacie; fiancé Angela Forsythe and her children, Jory and Jada; brothers Clinton Palmer Jr. and wife, Debi, and Mark Palmer and wife, Melissa; grandchildren Emily, Gavin, Braylee, KiLyn, and Wyatt. Preceded in death by his wife, Tina Marie Palmer; parents Clinton Sr. and June Palmer; and infant brother Paul Palmer.He was a member of the Christian Church of Baton Rouge. He loved Cajun dancing, fishing, trips to Grand Isle, and was a handy man of all trades.Visitation will be held on Friday February 8, 2019 at The Church at St Amant 6 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will resume at 10 am on Saturday until time of the service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery Galvez.
