Memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable man, Mr. Michael Thomas Barrett. A loving husband, devoted grandfather, and cherished friend. Will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Christ Church West Monroe with Bro. Greg Dunn officiating.

 Michael was born on July 1, 1948, and passed from this life on December 24, 2024, at the age of 76. His journey touched many lives, he had a passion for painting, reading, and gardening. He found beauty in the world around him, whether it was through the strokes of a brush or the delicate blooms in his garden. His artistic spirit and nurturing hands brought joy not only to his surroundings but also to all who knew him.” He was fun, loving, and giving person. If it was freezing outside he would still give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He loved hunting but mostly fishing and working his little garden. Then there’s his drawings and paintings. He took pride in his handmade cards.

 “Above all, Michael treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were his pride and joy, and he loved creating memories with them that will last a lifetime.”

 “Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Blanch Barrett; son, Jonas Trevor Kemp; brothers, Ronald and Donald Barrett; brother in law, Carroll Odom.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Peggy Barrett, whose love and support were unwavering. He is also survived by sister, Nadine Odom; brothers, Travis Barrett and wife Patty, and Danny Barrett; sisters in law, Pam Barrett and Tonia Warner; his grandchildren, Christian Gullette, Zayden Perkins, Jaley Jo Wilson, and Faith Robertson, along with his great-grandchildren, Cash Albritton, Cross Albritton, and Christabella Madison. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by a host of extended family and friends.”
