Michael Paul (MP) Kocke, Sr., born February 11, 1972, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2024. MP was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing whenever and wherever he could. He loved spending time with friends and family. He also loved a good party and would often D.J. for fun and love of music. MP also loved all animals and if he could have, he would have lived in the country where he could have had his own Noah’s Ark.
Michael is survived by his loving mom, Kathy Kocke; wife, Tammy Sue Kocke; children and stepchildren, Michael Paul (Lil’ Mike) Kocke, Jr, Channing Riley (Erica), Chase Riley, Cazmiara Riley, and Remington Riley; sister, Toni Kocke Chachati and husband, Ron Chachati; grandchildren, Elsie (Ellie) Kocke, Lakin, Leah, Aubrey, Jessica, Colt, Priscilla; niece, Tori Jane Chachati and nephew, Max Chachati as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and his best friends, Troy D. Landry, Lane Moran, Michelle Landry Robicheaux and Amanda Barrient. He also leaves behind his beloved animals Bully, Cali, Lil’ Bit, LP, and Gerald the Turtle.
He is preceded in death by his loving father, Michael Henry (Big Mike) Kocke; maternal grandparents, Joyce and Jimmy Bankston, and paternal grandparents, Alice (Teta) and Robert Kocke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to ‘C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation’, an organization that aims to enrich the lives of special needs children, supports their families, and strength communities through the sport of fishing. A lot these children are taken to the Louisiana Delta to fish (one of MP’s favorite places).
