Michael “Mike” Kohn

Michael “Mike” Kohn, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 15, 2021 with his family at his side.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Lanier Baptist Church, 4851 Lanier Dr, Baton Rouge and will continue on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm at the church with Rev. Mike Ferguson officiating. Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Baker.

Mike worked for Louis Capozzoli, now Geoengineers for over 40 years, a member of the Baker Masonic Lodge 441, loved his dogs, fishing and coached his children in sports and now “Dudu” watches the grandchildren. Loved being an usher at Lanier Baptist Church for 18 years and an honorably discharged veteran with the Army and was stationed in Germany.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Kay Kohn of Baker; three children, Jonathan Kohn and wife Danley of Prairieville, Alyssa Kohn of Baker and Nathaniel Kohn of Guangzhou, China; sister, Rosalie Thompson of Plaquemine; two grandchildren, Olivia and Austin Kohn; numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonhard Kohn and Rosalie Der Kohn; son, Austin Kohn; sister, Frances Tosenberger; brother, Leonard Kohn.
