Michael Steven Wimberley

Funeral service celebrating the life of Michael “Steve” Wimberley will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 13, 2025, at Amazing Grace Worship Center with Pastor Artie Beebe officiating and Tommy Savage assisting. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens, West Monroe. Family will receive friends 12:00 PM until time of service at the church.

Steve peacefully passed away on January 9th, 2025, at the age of 66 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 26, 1958, in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was a member of Amazing Grace Worship Center. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank “Sonny” Wimberley Sr., mother, Peggy Wimberley and brother James “Jay” Wimberley.

 He fought a courageous battle with determination and grace, inspiring everyone who knew him. He was known for his sharp sense of humor and infectious laughter that could light up a room. If you knew Steve, you couldn’t help but love him. Steve enjoyed piddling, bargaining at yard sales, riding his tractor and camping.

 He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Janie Wimberley and his children, Felicia Plybon (Chris) and Michael Wimberley Jr. Through love and marriage, he was blessed to gain 5 more children: Dana Minyard, Misty Davis (Charles), Bobby Hood, Stefanie Savage (Tommy) and Whitney Watkins (Johnny); brothers Bill Wimberley (Maggie), Frank Wimberley (Sue), sister Lori Dickens (Kenny) brother Bryan Wimberley, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, lifelong special friend Jimmie Durrant, plethora of cherished family and friends, along with his four-legged side kick “Buster.”

 Pallbearers will be Chris Plybon, Charles Davis, Colton Davis, Josh Davis, Koda Savage and Caleb Savage. Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Savage and Ryker Plybon.
