Nadine Claire Drinkwater Neubig

Nadine passed from this earthly life on July 27, 2024, only a week shy of her 88th birthday. Born on August 3, 1936, she grew up in Wheatland, Iowa where she lived until the age of 18. She then moved to Plaquemine, LA with her family and remains there until her death. She received her bachelor’s degree in general studies from LSU and retired from the LA Department of Motor Vehicles. Nadine loved to read and carried a book wherever she went. She also enjoyed listening to Tony Bennett and other jazz musicians, among some of her favorite songs were “So Rare” by Jimmy Dorsey.

Nadine is survived by her children, David Lee Neubig and Christina Neubig Braud; grandson, Andrew Allemond and his wife, Lauren; great-grandchildren, Emma, Easton, Evelyn, Quinn, and Elise; brother, John Lee Drinkwater and his wife, Jan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Julien Lee Neubig; parents, John Geary Drinkwater and Florentine Lydia Schneider Drinkwater; and grandson, Ronald “Trey” Allemond, III.

Nadine will be laid to rest at Port Hudson National Cemetery with her husband Julien Lee. Her family and friends will honor her with a private celebration of Nadine’s life.
