Nelson Joseph Boudreaux, 90, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Aug 19,2023 in Glendale, Arizona, surrounded by his family. He was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Aurelia and Walter Boudreaux on Sept 11, 1932. As a young child, the family moved to Baton Rouge. There he spent his life. He achieved his Eagle Scout ranking, graduated from Istrouma High School and joined the Navy where his propensity for engineering began. He married his high school sweetheart, Elsie Joffrion Boudreaux, in 1952. While helping raise his young family, he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from LSU. He began his professional career at Copolymer Rubber and Chemical in Baton Rouge from which he retired. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies including fishing, hiking, electronics, and wood and metal working. He also enjoyed working with computers and built and maintained a website to help others with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Boudreaux, children Robert Boudreaux, Karen Boudreaux, and Mary Brooks, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother Walter Boudreaux, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family ask contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Visitation will be at St Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Aug 30 from 9:00AM-11:00AM in the Parish Hall followed by a service at 11:00AM in the church and committal at St George Catholic Church. A reception for the celebration of Nelson’s life will be held at St Margaret’s Parish Hall following.
