BATON ROUGE - Patricia Elaine Jenkins, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024. Born on July 5, 1943, in Opelousas, Louisiana, she was the cherished daughter of Frank A. Burleigh and Verna M. Burleigh.
A proud graduate of Opelousas High School’s Class of 1961, Patricia went on to build a fulfilling career in Pathology at Baton Rouge General Mid-City. She deeply valued the friendships she formed during her tenure and often expressed gratitude for the wonderful colleagues who enriched her life.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, David Jenkins. She is survived by her loving family: four siblings, Barbara Bihm, Raymond “Sonny” Burleigh and wife Evelyn, Sandra Castille, and Michael Burleigh and wife Donna; eight children including three sons, James Borne, Brett Borne, and Gary Borne and his fiancée Jessica; five daughters, Cynthia Campo and her husband Paul, Karen Dorman and her husband David, Debra Hopper and her husband David, Tiffany Scully and her husband Gary, and Jennifer Morgan. Patricia’s legacy also includes twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
In addition to her devotion to family and work, Patricia had a special place in her heart for her precious dog, Tiger—affectionately nicknamed "Teegs"—who was a constant source of comfort and companionship.
Patricia will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
