Peggy Averette Palmer, a native of Denham Springs and resident of Gonzales, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 74. Peggy was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. She retired from Allstate Insurance after 40 years, where she loved her clients and work family. Peggy adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed making personalized gifts for her family and friends. Her shop was her happy place where she loved to do crafts. Peggy is survived by her children, Traci Furlow-Gonzales (Wade), Jason Palmer (Julie); grandchildren, Kade and Ryleigh Palmer, Taylor Harris (Hannah), Nicholas Furlow (Danielle), Jacob Furlow (Emily), Victoria “Alli” Furlow-Cartwright (Austin), Brooke Gonzales-Bumm (Adam), Brittany Gonzales (Taylor); bonus grandchildren, Bethany Gonzales (Mike); great grandchildren, Tage and Nora Harris, Sutton Furlow, Scottie Cartwright, Aubrey and Autumn Bumm; bonus great grandchildren, Luna and Levi Mire; sisters, Bonnie Johnson (Dwayne), Betty Montgomery; brother, Davie Averette; brother-in-law, J.E. Palmer (Lindy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dennis Palmer; father, Glynn Averette; mother, Vivan “Pat” Nichols; bonus dad, Papa Eddy Nichols; siblings, Lynn Averette, Marvin Averette and Jeanette Averette Matson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Castine's office and the staff of Clarity Hospice at The Crossing in Baton Rouge for their excellent care and compassion during the family's time of need.
A memorial service to celebrate Peggy will be held at Hebron Baptist Church of Denham Springs on Thursday, September 19, 2024, with visitation from 10am until service time at 12pm. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.
