Penny Marie Bourgeois

Penny Marie Chenevert Bourgeois Began her earthly journey April 29, 1967 & went to her eternal glory December 29, 2022. She is preceded in death by her birth mother, Betty Prejean; foster parents, Leeroy & Patricia Remondet; sisters, Barbara Gros and BettyAnn Champagne; daughter, Rachel Bourgeois, and grandson, Devin Cambre. Penny is survived by her children, Kristy Bourgeois (Nick Gaudet), Vince Bourgeois Jr, John Bourgeois, Melvin Picolo (Savannah Lilies); grandchildren, Kaden & Khiler Cooper, Isabella,Tierney & Noah Gaudet, Zaylan Lilies; sisters, Margaret Chenevert, Faye Chenevert, Anna Mae Chenevert and Linda Ponvelle; brothers, Donald Chenevert and Louis Remondet; former husband, Vince Bourgeois Sr. as well and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.  Penny was a woman of great character, a loving praying mother, loyal empathetic friend, selfless, generous & humble. Penny had a servant’s heart, she served her family, her church, her friends and anyone who God put in her path. She was a believer in God’s word & loved Jesus passionately. The last couple years she was challenged by health issues related to liver disease & Covid, which brought her to a much too early departure from her loved ones. Penny was a blessing to so many and will be remember lovingly by all who knew her.  The family extends their invitation to come and celebrate Penny’s life Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at The Harbor Church (42080 Churchpoint Rd. Gonzales, LA 70737)  with visitation begining at 10 am until service at noon.  A reception to immediately follow for family & friends to gather with food and fellowship as we continue to remember & celebrate Penny’s life.
