Rachel Lane Crowell

April 20, 1995 — March 11, 2025

Rachel Lane Crowell, a vibrant spirit born on April 20, 1995, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, departed from this world on March 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy that touched the lives of all who knew her. Rachel was a dazzling social butterfly, adored for her infectious smile and warm personality that would light up any room.

Her time spent at Central High School was marked by cherished memories as a cheerleader and a proud member of the homecoming court, where her enthusiasm and dedication shined brightly. Rachel’s academic accomplishments included notable recognitions such as TOPS, reflecting her hard work and commitment to excellence. Rachel was known for her love of animals especially her two beloved fur babies, Maple and Moonbeam. Anyone fortunate enough to cross paths with Rachel knew of her great affection for family and friends — there was never a dull moment when she was around.

She is survived by her parents, Beth and Jeff Crowell, along with her sister Chelsea Crowell Bourgeois and brother-in-law Ryan Bourgeois. She was a beloved aunt to her dear nephew, Tucker Lane Bourgeois. Rachel is also survived by her uncle Elliott “William” Sutherlin, Aunt Renee Crowell, Uncle Jim “James” Crowell; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Rachel is preceded in death by her uncle Mike Crowell and her beloved Mawmaw Doris and Pawpaw James Crowell, as well as her Grandpa Bill and Gramma Sandra Sutherlin, whose memories will continue to live on through the stories shared by those who loved her.

Though her journey included struggles, Rachel’s heart was always open, generous, and kind. Her spirit will be lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.

While Rachel has left this earthly plane, the indelible imprint of her kindness, laughter, and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered for the bright light she was during her time on this world.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to any local shelters or organizations that help those suffering to fight the horrible disease of addiction.

Remember those who have left us and never give up on those still fighting.
