Raphael Eric Roy

Raphael “Eric” Roy was a resident of Kentwood, LA. He was a loving husband, father, and 'Grandude' to his favorite sweetheart. His love radiated through anyone who was fortunate enough to be in his presence. He was a veteran for the United States Coast Guard who served his country honorably. To know him was to love him. He had a passion for cooking, was a Jack-of-all-trades, and could make anyone smile with one of his “dad jokes”. He enjoyed the simpler things in life and was a loving family man who took pride in raising two daughters and son. He loved his kids but adored his granddaughter, Rori. He was a humble man that would give you the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his wallet. He is incredibly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

He is survived by his soulmate Sherri Southerland Roy, daughter Brittani Roy, son Raphael Codey Roy, daughter Mandi Roy Mince, son in law Trinity Mince Jr, and granddaughter Aurora Mince. He is also survived by his sister Karen Roy Padgett, Keith Padgett, niece Kelsey Reed and family, goddaughter Gabriella Battistella, sister in law Brandi Southerland Battistella, brother in law Troy Southerland III, niece Hali Southerland, beloved nephew Justin Shaw, Rebekah Shaw and family, father in law Troy Southerland Jr., Debra Southerland, Chase Southerland, and Chad Southerland, as well as many other friends and family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Raphael Waldo Roy and Pattis Roy, beloved sister Denise Roy Shaw, brother in law Lionel Battistella, and mother in law Marie Pollard Southerland. 

A celebration of life with be held at a later date to honor the life of Eric Roy.
