Rémy Alan Mouton

February 11, 1963 — March 26, 2025

Baton Rouge

Rémy Mouton passed away on March 26, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 62. Born in Lafayette on February 11, 1963, he spent his early years in various places before settling in Baton Rouge as a teenager, where he built a life surrounded by the people he loved most.

As the baby of the family, Rémy led with an undeniable young and bright spirit. From countless broken bones to animated storytelling, he had a larger-than-life presence and a gift for making people laugh. He brought energy and humor wherever he went, earning the well-deserved title of “life of the party”. That same enthusiasm carried into the things he loved most. He was passionate about sports, especially LSU football and baseball, and had a lifelong love of muscle cars.

For more than 25 years, Rémy owned and operated a laundry route service, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. He never met a stranger and continuously embodied the true meaning of altruism, always giving without expecting a favor returned. He was deeply devoted to the people in his life, always showing up with loyalty and a generous heart. Of all the roles he held in life, being a father was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

Rémy’s memory lives on in the joy and laughter he sparked, the stories he told, and the moments he created with those who knew and loved him. But it lives most vividly through his girls, who carry his heart, his humor, and the best parts of who he was. In who they are and all they do, his spirit continues on.

He is survived by his daughters, Lunden and Gracen Mouton; his former wife, Sheila Mancuso Ringo; his father, Willard Mouton; his siblings, Renee Healy (Chuck), Rowland Mouton, Richard Mouton (Kay Ellen) and Robert Mouton; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, May Mouton; his brother, Russell Mouton; and his daughter, Layne Mouton.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor, and those who would like to attend can contact the family for more details.
