Robert “John” Jones, Sr.

A ceremony celebrating the life of Robert “John” Jones Sr will be 11:00am Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at New Beginnings Outreach Church Holden; visitation will begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Church Funeral Services. Mr. Jones was born on September 11, 1933 in Meridian, MS to the union of George and Rosa Long Jones; and departed from this life on Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Holden, retired Dental Lab Tech, and attended New Beginnings Outreach. He enjoyed cooking and doing yardwork. His greatest passion was time being with his family. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Jones; his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife, Linda Roundtree Jones; his children, Martha Shireey, Marty and Robert Jones, Jimmy, Gregory and Terry “Archie” Coghlan; brother Len Jones; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Corey Jones, Kenny Reed, Jessie Roundtree, Donald Shiree, and Milton Motichek. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Cook and Maurice Delapass.
