Robert Lincoln “Bob” Kennedy, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Bob was a talented wood carver and enjoyed sharing his work with his family and friends. He graduated from Baton Rouge High and attended LSU. He loved cooking anything on the grill or smoker, was an avid football and baseball fan, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grand children.
He was survived, until January 24, 2021, by his loving wife of 34 years, Faith Berdon Kennedy. He is survived by three children, Lynne Marie Kennedy Mattson (Bob), Robert Alan Kennedy (Francine), Patrick Daniel Kennedy (Nikki), and five step-children, Nita Moore-Pankin (Jordan), Dina Leon, Madeline Thompson (Mark), Tonya Moore, and Paul Ross (Summer). He is also survived by his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Joshua Potter (Alicia), Jessica Potter Babin (Carey), Francesca Kennedy, Robert Larue Kennedy, Miranda Kennedy, Cameron Kennedy, Claire Kennedy, Ashton Leon Alkire (Marsh), Parker Leon, Sam Thompson, Rachel Thompson, Jacob Pankin, Aubrey Ross, Lucas Ross and Amelia Ross, an great grandchildren Maci Babin, Jori Babin, Elijah Potter, Ivy Potter, Mila Leon and Oak Alkire. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Blakely Kennedy and Anna Catherine (Hopper) Kennedy, sisters Anna Laura, Mary Catherine, and Clara Helen (Billie), niece Betty Lou and nephew Charles Stegall.
The family will forever be grateful for the loving care given by caregivers Denise, Dana, Twinkle and Sharon, and the support of Katie, Hillary, Megan and Eddie and the entire Heart of Hospice team, we could not have gotten trough this past year without them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday January 29 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and internment will be at Prairieville Community Cemetery along with his wife. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association, Heart of Hospice or Alzheimer’s Services.
