Roger Dale Reames, 60, of Rocky Branch, passed away on March 5, 2025. Known affectionately as "Pappy" by his grandchildren, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the thrill of dirt track racing.
Born on July 11, 1964, Roger was an avid HVAC technician for over 40 years. He was a man who embraced the simple pleasures of life. — from the roar of the engines at the dirt track to the warmth of family gatherings. He found joy in the dirt and dust of racing, spending many years at the track, If he wasn't driving the car, he was cheering on his favorite drivers. His enthusiasm for racing was only rivaled by his deep love for his family.
Roger was a proud father and grandfather, always ready with a story or a piece of advice. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was giving them coffee, working on race cars, or just simply watching them play, Pappy's presence was a source of comfort and joy.
His family will remember him as a man who never missed an opportunity to show his love. Whether through a kind word, a funny joke, or a helping hand, Pappy's heart was always open. He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Roger's life will be held on March 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at The Rev in Monroe. 8850 Frontage Rd. Monroe.
Pappy may have left this world, but his spirit will forever live on in the roar of an engine, the laughter of his family, and the memories he created with those he loved.
He is Proceeded in death by his parents, Clyde and Phylis Reames; grandson, Gabriel Simpson; son-in-law, Jody Ponder, and sister, Ada Worsham.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Beth Reames; children, Brandon Reames, Bridget Varner and husband, Zach, Angelina Stanfield Ponder, Dustin Stanfield and wife, Melody, Curtis Roberts, Kristie Thomason and husband, Trey, Richard Robert’s and wife, Jessica, Tommy Herrington and wife, Paula; cherished grandchildren, Korlee, Emory, Samuel, Carson, Willow, Dustin Jr., Layne, CJ, Christian, Harley, Evelyn, Caitlyn, Tyler, Aiden, and Cheyenne; also survived by his sisters, Phylis Ann, June Clabaugh and brother, David Reames; and a host of extended family and friends.
