Ronald Francis Barcelona, born February 12th, 1937 passed away peacefully at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge on April 17th, 2021 after a long health battle. He Grew up in Baton Rouge, went into The Navy and retired after 21 years of service. He also retired from Exxon Refinery’s security department after 19 years. After retiring, Ronald went on to ministry for the Livingston Parish Jail for the last 26 years; a job that didn’t pay one penny but he loved helping people, and said it was the best job he ever had!After this last year with COVID-19, he was so sad he wasn’t able to go to church or to the jail, but he would continue sharing the blessing of his faith with anyone he met. He was a faithful servant till the end! Our dad will be missed by many who knew him.Ronald is survived by his children; Louis Riley Barcelona (Debra) of Center, TX. Rhonda B. Galloway (Eddie) of Foley, AL, brother Donald Barcelona, fiancée Myrna Tilgham of Grenada, MS who he loved so very much and his constant companion, Chihuahua “Toby”.Also survived by grand daughter Jessica A. Cobb, grand daughter in-law Sarah Cobb Edwards, step granddaughter Tiffany Knight (Cliff), granddaughter Jennifer Windham (Dean), and four great grand children; Jayden Avery Hunt, Jude David Cobb, Jarrod Daniel Moore, and Jaxon Daniel Moore.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Louis J. Barcelona and Effie Bourgeoise Barcelona, his brother Louis “Bubba” Barcelona, grandson Jeremy Dwayne Cobb, sister Mary Lucille Lesage, and wife Velma Lorraine Miller Barcelona.
