Rori Kay Brown Edgen, born in Baton Rouge and resident of Slaughter, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, March 28, 2022, at the age of 58. Rori loved spending time with her family and friends as well as the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, driving the tractor and around the house with her husband, cuttings grass, shooting guns and being with her beloved dog, Koda. Rori is survived by her loving husband, Randy Edgen; daughter, Brandi D. Edgen and fiancé, Tyler Dufour; granddaughter, Adrienne Dufour; siblings, Kip Brown and Tami Orgeron; half-sisters, DD and Dina; her beloved dog, Koda, as well as numerous other family members and friends not mentioned. Rori is preceded in death by her grandparents, Adam Anthony “Shorty” and Irene “Sambo” Chiasson; mother, Bobbie Sue Chiasson Soileau and husband, Herbert Joseph Soileau; father, Jesse Gene Brown and sister, Traci Orgeron. A memorial service to celebrate Rori’s life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express a special thanks to Bernita Shore Fontenot as well as many others who cared for the Edgen family during their time of need.
