Born November 2, 1939, Nordhausen, Germany. Rosemarie passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with vascular dementia while in the company of family on the afternoon of May 29, 2022, in Baton Rouge, LA. After leaving Germany as a teenager, Rosemarie lived in Palm Beach, FL, Virginia Beach, VA and Madison, MS. Rosemarie was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to entertain, cook, sew, and garden. She passionately supported and volunteered for many charitable organizations. She had an exceptional gift for creative endeavors. She was often called upon for organizing the decorations for charitable events and volunteered as the arts and crafts director for the summer camp at her local club in Florida.
She was a loving daughter, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Moritz and Martha Liefeith, and her loving husband August Hoffmann.
Survivors include her daughter Dona Hoffmann Bagot (Gene) and her grandchildren Tyler Bagot, Thomas Bagot, Alston Bagot, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
