Rosemary Benitez Duhon, born on October 15, 1955 in Yuscaran, El Paraíso, Honduras, passed away on November 29, 2024 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 69.
Rosemary was a Christian woman who had a strong faith in God. She loved gardening, spending time with her family, helping anyone and everyone, and making people laugh. She was reliant, smart, strong, thoughtful, optimistic and an incredible mother and grandmother. She was the youngest of 8 siblings and was loved not only by her family but everyone she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce J. Duhon; mother, Celina Arriaga de Benitez; father, Rosalio Benitez; 2 brothers, Jose Anibal Benitez and Mario Gabriel Benitez; and her 2 sisters, Astrid Benitez and Doris Denitez.
She is survived by her daughter, Winnie Celina Duhon and her significant other, Charles Lane Simpson; two grandchildren, Sophee Neveah Rose Hargrave and Ellie Rain Hargrave; and her grandpup, Nahla Simpson. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Benitez and Nora Maria Benitez; brother, Rosalio Benitez of Honduras; nieces and nephews, Beverly Bates and her husband Tambrein Bates of Maricopa, Arizona, Jasmine S. English of DuPont, Washington, Tambrein S. Bates of New Braunfels, Texas; and numerous other nieces and nephews who reside in Honduras who she loved dearly.
