A ceremony celebrating the life of Rufus A. Sticker Jr., will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday at Woodland Baptist Church Springfield; visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Alvin J. McKinney Cemetery. Rufus passed away at his home on February 5, 2020 in Springfield at the age of 71 years. He was born in New Orleans on January 29, 1949 to the union of the late Rufus A. Sticker Sr and Catherine “Cleo” Threeton Sticker. He served as a Marine in The Vietnam War from 1967 to 1971; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving 18 wheelers. Also preceded in death by 2 sisters Valeria Davidson and Karen Kelly. Survivors include his wife Judy Sticker; sisters Katherine Sticker, Veronica Foster, Victoria Starkey, Mary Sticker and Patricia Juarez; his children and their spouses, Rufus Sticker III (Crystal), Richard Sticker (Lanya), Tawanna Sticker (Michael), Jonathan Hedgepeth (Sabrina), Christy Hedgepeth, Misty Griffin, Amber Griffin, Jessica Kirkland and Joshua Sticker; also survived by 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren (with one on the way), a host of nieces and nephews.
